The Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) and Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) have received approval by the US Dept. or Labour (crazy) for National guidelines for registered internship programs for the solar industry.

National guidelines for internships offer a template that can use companies, educational institutions, associations and trade unions to create high -quality student programs that meet the federal regulations.

The new guidelines from IREC and SEIA are Laborer Apprenticeship Occupation for the Dol-recognized construction worker. Construction Craft Laborer Pupils who work on solar projects perform mechanical tasks and help other skilled traders on a project site, including electricians, carpenters, iron workers and operational engineers.

“Registered apprenticeships are one of the most effective strategies for companies of clean energy sources to build a highly educated, competent and diverse workforce,” said Richard Lawrence, senior director, workforce and industrial digesteness at IREC. “Irec was pleased to work with the solar industry to develop these guidelines that offer sun companies, and their training and educational partners, with an industrial stand that can coordinate with training programs for employees.”

IREC and SEIA – In collaboration with the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) and experts from the industry – the guidelines with financing both the Solar Ready Vets Network of the US Department of Energy and the DOL’s Apprentatory Hizens in Clean Energy (ACE) Network .

“Student programs that follow these guidelines will strengthen the workforce of 280,000 stubborn solar and storage industry by increasing access to quality education and training,” said Erika Symmonds, Seia’s VP of Equity and Workforce Development. “The solar and storage industry is growing day by day, and our tools and strategies for personnel development must also grow. We thank Irec and other partners for their cooperation. “
