Lightsource BP has driven a 288 MW solar port folio in Texas. Vesper Energy completes 600 MW Hornet Solar Project in Swisher County, Texas. Lefrak completes a milestone project on a high -rental rental building in New Jersey. Read more about these initiatives in the latest edition of Projects weekly.

Texas plucks the benefits of $ 348 million to new renewable energy generation, since a Lightsource BP 288 MW Solar Portfolio enters commercial operation. The portfolio comprises two projects in the field of Nuts scale:

With this expansion, the operational fleet of Lightsource BP in Texas is growing to 1,051 MW, so that the electric schedule of the state is further diversified and strengthened.

“Our solar projects are proof of the power of private investments in strengthening energy security and supporting economic growth,” said Helen Brauner, Interim COO for Lightsource BP USA. “By supplying reliable, our own energy, we help Texas to build a more resilient schedule and create opportunities for American production and local communities.”

Cool factor: Solar panels are mounted on posts that use less than 5% of the country, keeping enough space for vegetation to thrive. With a focus on improving biodiversity within the first five years of the operation, ongoing land management initiatives in the Starr and Second Division projects include:

  • Pollinative habitats with an adapted seed mix planted under the panels.
  • Integrated agriculture through sheep, starts in 2025.
  • Habitat structures designed to support small mammalian populations.
  • Wetland -Improving, protecting an adjacent Wetland complex with vegetative filter strips and pollinator habitat to improve water quality.

Vesper Energy completes 600 MW Hornet Solar Project

Vesper Energy has installed the last module on its 600 MWAC Hornet Solar Project Swisher County, Texas. The project has more than 1.36 million modules, which span more than 6 square miles.

“The seamless coordination between our team and our EPC partner, Blattner, has enabled us to stay ahead and to stay in the budget and to guarantee the quality throughout the entire process,” said Juan Suarez, Co-CEO at Vesper Energy. “The most striking thing is that the team has completed this task with zero absorbable injuries, the underline from a commitment to safety and excellence.”

Cool factor: The Hornet Solar Project has mounted bifacial photovoltaic modules on a tracking system with one axis. The project is interconnected with the transmission system of Oncor Electric within ERCOT and has been contracted to deliver electricity to four off-take partners via individual virtual electricity buy agreements (VPPAs). The Hornet Solar Project remains on track to achieve full commercialization in the spring of 2025.

Lefrak completes the largest solar installation on high-rise buildings with several families in NJ

The real estate developer based in New York Gefrak completed an 180 kW, 450-panel roof solar system The beachA rental tower of 336 units in the Newport district in Jersey City in Newport. In the past decade, Lefrak has invested more than $ 100 million in energy saving and low -carbon -poor measures in its national portfolio, including almost $ 1 million for this installation.

“Lefrak is committed to community development and promotes the sustainability of the environment,” said Charles Burton, head of the community relationships for Lefrak.

Cool factor: The project is the largest installation of solar panel in a high -rise housing building with several families in New Jersey. The new system on the roof will compensate for 13% of the carbon emissions of the building, including energy produced by electrical systems used in the common areas of the beach, such as those which lifts and lighting flows, as well as cooling and ventilation in the lobby and facilities of the building. The innovative design of the roof of the beach and the orientation of the building optimize the amount of solar energy generated by the system. The system was installed by Sunkeeper Solar, a solar energy company established in Brooklyn.

“The dedication of Newport to reduce its CO2 footprint is a good example of the smart, sustainable development that we strive to reach city -wide,” said mayor of Jersey City Steven Fulop. “A solar panel installation of this size in Jersey City determines the standard for future projects in the entire state and the country. Our thanks to Newport for a good example as a progressive community in our city. ”
