In a new weekly update for PV -MagazineOpis, a Dow Jones company, offers a quick look at the most important trends in the global PV industry.

February 14, 2025
Opis

The Chinese Modulemarker (CMM), the Opis Benchmark Assessment for Topcon modules from China dropped 1.12% at $ 0.084/W free-on-board (FOB) China, with price indications between $ 0.080-0.088/W. FOB China Mono Perc module prices followed the downward trend, and also dropped 1.12% at $ 0.084/W FOB China, with prices between $ 0.081-0.088/W.

Sources from the industry noticed that Topcon module prices had a “premium” for the second half of 2025 compared to the prices for spot or first half of 2025, because manufacturers adjust the prices up because of the sturdy electric raw material costs.

The sales activity has gradually returned after the new New Year, with transactions gaining momentum after the day day. A Topcon module deal from a top 10 manufacturer was heard at $ 0.084/WP FOB China. Another transaction for loading the second half of 2025 was closed at $ 0.085/W FOB China, OPIs reported earlier.

The first half of 2025 loading was at $ 0.084/W, with values between $ 0.081-0.087/W, while charging prices for the second half of 2025 increased by 1.19% to $ 0.085/W. Prices in the first quarter of 2026 were assessed at $ 0.083/W, with prices noted from $ 0.080-0.087/W.

FOB China Topcon 450WP modules for spot load were 2.13% lower rated at $ 0.092/W, with price indications between $ 0.086-0.100/W.

Europe: Topcon prices for 575WP modules remained unchanged during the Week of Chinese New Year. OPIS rated the average price at € 0.096/W, with indications between a low point of € 0.080/W and a high point of € 0.110/W for Tier1 panels.

Topcon prices for 450 W modules rose with 1% and were reported at the average price of € 0.101/W, with indications between a low point of € 0.090/W and a high point of € 0.110/W for Tier1 panels.

Utilism project developers told OPIs that prices for both PV panels for both usefulness and residential PV panels are slowly starting to rise. “Chinese manufacturers are no longer willing to produce under the costs, and this is up to the top”.

In potential USE-EU Solar Trade barriers, market players find it difficult to evaluate the impact of American and Chinese policy. “Europe has indicated that they would develop more things with China and India, and this can be positive for solar activities in Europe,” said a French solar energy company.

US: The spot price for Topcon Utility-Scale Modules DDP Us was stable this week for $ 0.279/W. The bargain price for Mono Perc 400 W modules Exw held at $ 0.303/W. On the forward curve, Opis assesses Topcon modules to deliver DDP at $ 0.282/W in the fourth quarter of 2025, and mono perc modules in the same period at $ 0.272/W.

Fear of the fate of the inflation reduction act remains the stimuli. Trade groups on solar energy organized a “lobbyenblitz” in Washington DC last week to emphasize the importance of tax credits for clean energy in the IRA, which help to reduce “American dependence on foreign opponents”, in the service of Americans and the Delivery with low cost power, said the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) in a release. The organizations that participated in meetings with legislators represent more than 2000 energy companies.

According to a distributor, the prices for distributed generation modules look stable until February, but will increase in March, although they “are still skeptical about how high they will be.”

Opis, a Dow Jones company, offers energy prices, news, data and analysis of gasoline, diesel, aircraft fuel, LPG/NGL, coal, metals and chemicals, as well as renewable fuels and environmental products. It acquired price determination of data from Singapore Solar Exchange in 2022 and now publishes the OPIS APAC SOLAR WEEKLY REPORT.
