IG Renewables has announced that it has achieved its first planning success for an upcoming solar development in Essex.

The company, an outlet of Innovo Renewables established in the UK, has the building permit for the Nickerlands Solar Farm, a development of 28 MWp, near ONAAR, Essex,. The project was created and developed by a local company, Anglo Renewables.

This is the first project in the 3GW Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (Bess) of IG Renewables, which spreads across England, Scotland and Wales, to get a building permit. Although this project, like many of the earlier projects in this development pipeline, has been developed in combination with another development company, IG Renewables notes that the majority of the total pipeline now consists of projects that have emerged and managed exclusively.

IG Renewables would like to express that the project, which is on 26 hectares of land, is designed with a high focus on stimulating local biodiversity, with wild flowers, hedgerow and tree plant that takes place on location. Moreover, a £ 25,000 community Benefit Fund, which supports local causes, will be established in the area.

Matt Black, director of IG Renewables LTD said: “It is fantastic to see the hard work cumulating in IG -Renomable energy sources in recent years that make a building permit for the first project, and we have a large pipeline of further projects that follow. Working with Anglo -Renomable energy sources has been a very positive experience and their professionalism and deep expertise has been invaluable to bring this project to this stage. We are committed to delivering well -designed and suitable projects that offer tangible benefits for local biodiversity and community. “

James Stone, managing director of Anglo Renewables added: “We want to express our appreciation to the city council for their efficient and positive approach to this application, and we look forward to the considerable benefits of renewable energy generation and biodiversity that is realized as soon as the site goes into construction. Working together with IG -renewable energy sources in this project has been a hugely positive experience and we are enthusiastic about the prospect of continuing further projects in the coming months ”.

Although this is the first success of IG Renewables, parent company Innovo, which is active in Italy and Spain, has seen considerable success so far. Last month the Italian branch of Innovo bought 11 ready-made sun plants spread over Italy, with a total capacity of 66 MWp.
