The North -American production hub has added several new producers in the Supply Chain of the PV module, but analysts see continuous cell, waffle and polysilicon capacity restrictions. The report is based on announcements of capacities at locations in the region that produce PV modules, cells, waffles, ingots, polysilicon and metallurgical grade silicon.

The newest North American production hub card from Sinovoltaics, a technical compliance and quality assurance established in Hong Kong, reveals various newcomers from the region and planned capacity growth in the PV module-Supply Chain.

The Sinovoltaics Supply Chain Map (SSCM) – North -America for Q1 2025 Tallies 31.92 GW of the production capacity of module, taking into account announcements of canceled factories and modified capacity figures in Mexico, Canada and the United States. Another 97.9 GW in capacity is planned for the next 3 to 6 years, for a total of 129.9 GW capacity for the region.

The map and tables in the report offer details about 106 factories that produce PV modules, cells, waffles, ingots, polysilicon and silicon of metallurgical quality, in the previous report of 95 production sites.

Various manufacturers were added to the latest North -American map, such as Boviet Solar, Dycm Power, EBON Power, Imperial Star Solar, Nuvison Solar, EsfoundryRecreate and Toyo/Vsun.

Despite new market and participants in the market, such Esfoundry and progress in planned capacity, Sinovoltaics analysts noted that the production capacity of cell, wafer and polysilicon is limited and “the Achilles -Hiel van de Markt remains.” The production capacity of cells is planned to grow from 8 GW to 64.9 GW by 2030, and the production of wafers that go from 3.2 GW to 24.5 GW in the same period. The analysts noted that some manufacturers have canceled projects, such as Meyer Burger, who had planned a cell production location in Switzerland.

As far as Polysilicon is concerned, Hemlock Semiconductor, Wacker Mississippi Silicon and Highland materials are the most important suppliers, who plan an estimated total of 171,000 tonnes of production capacity.

The Sinovoltaics Supply Chain reports are free download. They follow the name of the manufacturer, factory size, location, owner, current and planned capacity. The data comes from publicly available sources, as well as the contacts of Sinovoltaics with manufacturers. The figures represent the capacity of the type plate. The series of reports is free and available for India, Southeast Asia and Europe.
