IntertekA care provider in the industry has verified that Gamechange Solar‘S Genius Tracker Single-Axis Solar Tracker System is compatible with approved components for the operation of a solar project at 2 kV. Genius Tracker was installed on a 5-MW project in the southeast with an electrical system of 2 kV.

The transition from 1500 V to 2 kV technology improves electrical efficiency by increasing the voltage instead of electricity, reducing voltage drop and making more energy possible to achieve the inverter. This shift can reduce material costs, improve power treatment capacity and lower the level of a project.

“Validation of compatibility for 2-kV operation is an important step forward for the industry,” said Scott van Pelt, chief engineer at GamesChange Solar. “Our successful implementation in the Southeast VS shows that the Gamechange Solar Genius Tracker is ready for the next generation of high-voltage sun projects, which offer more efficiency and lower system costs.”

Intertek evaluated the genius tracker under UL 2703 standards to assess the impact of the increased voltage. The assessment confirmed that no additional tests or changes were required, and verifies that the brilliant tracker -racking system is compatible with 2 kV systems.
