Spain offers a subsidy of € 200 million for Solar Ingot, Wafer Factory – PV Magazine International

Sunwafe SL has protected the largest share of Spain’s € 297.3 million ($ 321.6 million) for the production of clean energy, because the government increases support for domestic production.

The Ministry of Spain for ecological transition and the Demographic Challenge (Miteco) has released the provisional results of the renewal program under the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (Idae), for the time being assigned to € 297.3 million in 34 projects for production equipment and components that are essential for the Sector of Spain.

Eleven projects focus on producing and compiling electrolyzers and other components for green hydrogen. Another eleven are structures and equipment of wind energy. Seven are photovoltaic projects for solar energy, four decks of battery equipment and components for electrical storage and a focus is on the production of heat pump. All adhere to the principle “no significant damage” (DNSH) for the impact of the environment.

Sunwafe SL, located in Gijón, North Spain, insured around € 200 million for an Ingot and Wafer in the sun.

The provisionally selected projects will be in 12 autonomous communities. The Basque Country has the most projects with six, followed by Castilla-La Mancha with five. Andalusia and Galicia each have four, while Castilla Y León has three. The Canary Islands, Catalonia, Navarre, the Valencian community and Asturia each have two. Extremadura and Madrid each have one.

Ariema Enerxía, one of the successful bidders, will build a 200 MW Electrolyzerfabriek in Huelva, the company said in a statement PV -Magazine.

Other selected bidders are Matteco in Valencia, which focuses on green hydrogen. ABC compressors in Gipuzkoa, Araymond Spain (Tecniacero) in Barcelona, ​​and Zerinthia battery in Alcázar de San Juan, Ciudad Real, have also assured financing. Intarcon in Córdoba, H2 site in Bizkaia, and Escelco in León received support, together with Navantia in a Coruña and Bluesolar in Puertollano.

Industriaas de Tecnologías Aplicadas de Refrigeración y Conservación in Córdoba, quantum hydrogen in Cádiz and Evolventia in a Coruña are among the approved projects. Bihar batteries in Gipuzkoa will produce sodium batteries. Zigor in Córdoba, Gamesa in Burgos, Golendus in Badajoz, and Eafy on the Canary Islands also made the list.

The program is funded by the Spain’s recovery and resilience plan under the Repoweru component, introduced in October 2023.
