Terrasmart Fresh Plant Project Canopy

Carports are just logical. Of the 21.4 GWs Zonne -Zon to date, according to Wood Mackenzie, between 10% and 15% are built on top of carports. The demand for this efficient use of space continues to rise – generate clean energy while shielding cars against the elements.

A 2012 study from the US Geological Survey shows that parking spaces cover almost half a percent of the total land surface of America-accident 13,778 square miles. If we were to add PV on top of that entire area, the US would enjoy nearly 500 GW extra capacity without hindering land dedicated to wildlife, agriculture or housing animals.

More than 15 years ago, Terrasmart was one of the first to install large-scale carport systems on the solar luff. So far we have entered into a partnership with more than 270 MW’s canopel projects in the US, our expert designers, architecture engineers and expert project managers can help customers navigate the complex variables that go to the construction of solar panels at garage structures and area parking places.

Liss the next two recently completed projects The unique approach to Terrasmart To create cost and design efficiency that the implementation and canopy projects for value engineer current lines.

You can also rEad more about these projects in this white paper from Terasmart.

Fresh plant is one of the largest independent ownership of food store in the country. Placing solar panels on surface slices to produce clean energy that is tailored to the dedication of the grocer to public service,
Environmentalism and his employees – all in one go.

Challenges

Layers of local permits threatened to pay attention to the project. The aggressive schedule of the Fresh Plant and several subcontractors also required exact sequencing and coordination between the entire team: from assessing, drilling and casting
Many and ultimately install the racking structures and modules.

Solutions

The complexity of such coordination required the many years of experience of Terrasmart to grab the way. The project managers of Terrasmart anticipated every movement and kept the project earlier than planned. Although the details of this complicated project may have stunned a less experienced competitor, Terrasmart showed its strengths while the team successfully manufactured the racks for specifications and provided timely material delivery.

“We were under a lot of pressure to perform and ensure that we did not delay teams behind us. So we poured out our foundations three weeks in advance,” said Saul Mendez, project manager of Terrasmart, on site.

Result

Material savings While the geotechnical report called on a 24 to 36-inch diameter-concrete foundations
At depths between 18 and 20 feet, the Terrasmart designers were able to make the Value-Mselier system with a 24-inch diameter and a depth of 18 feet. This design only required two meters of concrete per foundation instead of five meters – a material reduction of 60% that resulted in consistent savings in the project.

Zero Change Orders | Projects on solar canopy are rarely completed with zero change assignments. In fact, 95% of these systems experience an average of 2% in change orders. In this case, however, the Terrasmart team did not provide any additional costs for the customer.
