Octopus Energy Services has responded to the government’s decision to lower the payments to homeowners of Solar for their surplus electricity by launching its Solarplus, Home Solar-Plus-Battery product.
With the French government that relieves the rates that must be paid for electricity that is exported by solar households in the grid, Octopus Energy Services is launching a product that combines a battery, solar energy and energy consumption flexibility.
Octopus said that its SolarPlus system will enable users to maximize self-consumption of electricity and to lower energy bills, which may be desperately needed after the government announced new net measuring percentages on 26 March.
Energy supplier Octopus said that his Solar-Plus storage product could be a 90% discount on the electricity accounts at home, for savings of a maximum of € 1,900 ($ 2,080) and even average invoice reductions of 49% could offer € 480-in houses that already have sunburn mountain systems. The figures are based on houses that are 6 m annually
It is crucial that SolarPlus is based on an electricity rate -ooctopus guarantees is 3% lower than the standard, regulated sales rate. The rate of Octopus also offers 428 more off-peak electricity hours per year than the regulated number, via extra off-peak determination between 2 pm and 4 pm daily from 1 April to 31 October. The Octopus rates offer a modest annual saving of electricity bill of approximately € 15, the company estimated.
An intelligent battery plays a central role in the product, loads solar generation during sunny weather and during off-peak hours at other times and offers a more attractive € 51 annual calculation saving.
Solar Plus buys excess solar electricity that is generated by users for € 0.13/kWh, a rate that is now three times the State Prize and set for three years. That price can amount to savings of € 234 per year.
The system also operates energy-intensive hotwater tanks and can save up to € 117 per year by taking advantage of solar electricity during the more generous April-to-October Electricity period of Octopus.
“We strongly believe in this new, verifiable sun supply: if they are used correctly, batteries will help relieve the schedule during the peak question,” said Guillaume Bodson, Deputy -CEO of Octopus Energy. “Resting 600,000 houses would [grid] Flexibility equivalent of six nuclear reactors: it is a real chance to make the French energy system more flexible and independent and at the same time to alleviate the burden on the portfolios of French people. “
