As the budget consent role rolls, four extra members of the congress have written a letter to the majority leader John Thune of the Senate question to protect him from protecting the IRA. The last letter from senators Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Thom Tillis (R-FL), John Curtis (R-UT) and Jerry Moran (R-KS) follows a similar letter of 9 March to the chairman of the Huiscommissie for Days and resources signed by 21 Republican representatives.

“Many American companies have made substantial investments in domestic energy production and infrastructure based on the current energy tax framework,” the senators write. “A wholesale impact, or the termination of certain individual credits, would create uncertainty, the capital allocation, long -term project planning and creating jobs in the energy sector and in our wider economy.”

On Thursday, April 10, the House of Representatives adopted the resolution needed for Republicans to work on budget tuning, according to Capitol Hill News Organization Roll -Call. The resolution sets a saving goal of $ 1.5 trillion over 10 years, so legislators are looking for cuts where possible.

House committees will soon start the Markup process for the budget tuning, in combination with senate panels. Solar United Buren and other advocacy of renewable energy hope that the two -part support for the IRA will keep it from the chopping block.

“The federal tax credits and related programs can enable millions of American households and small companies to lower and control their rising electricity costs,” said Glen Brand, policy director and advocacy for Solar United Neighbours. “Terwijl de 21 Huisrepublikeinen en vier Republikeinse senatoren in hun recente brieven aan hun leiders duidelijk zijn gemaakt, is er tweeledige steun voor het beschermen van de beleggingsbelastingkrediet, met name de belastingkrediet van 30% residentiële belastingkrediet, in de budgetonderhandelingen. De ITC, de landelijke Energy for America-programma en de zonne-voor alle programma’s zijn veel nodig, smart federal-beleggingen To help people and companies throughout the country. “
