China’s Sungrow has launched a new inverter solution for PV applications on utility scale, with a modular and expandable design.

Dubrynchronized 1+x 2.0 modular inverter, uses the product inverter units with an output of 800 kW, of which 12 can be connected parallel to a total capacity of 9.6 MW.

“The 1+x 2.0 represents a paradigm shift for the solar store on Utility scale,” said Lee Zhang, vice-president at Sungrow. “From deserts to mountains, it enables our customers to push boundaries and at the same time deliver an excellent return on investments. We are proud to help the energy transition ahead of solutions that marry innovation with sustainability.”

The product has a maximum efficiency of 99% and an arc protection system that disconnects the defective circuit within 40 milliseconds, according to the manufacturer.

It also integrates semiconductors with a powerful density, a very efficient heat exchanger and a thermal management system with a double cycle to optimize heat disipation. The company also claims that it maintains a stable effect without exploring the temperatures of a maximum of 52 C.

“The IP66 protection construction offers resilience against extreme conditions. The sealed module, with internal components fully protected and advanced heat disipation techniques and self-cleaning air canal functions, will guarantee the high reliability of the inverter,” the company added.

The new system measures 12.192 mm x 2,896 mm x 2438 mm and weighs up to 31.5 tons.
