DSD -Refinable energy sources has concluded a master contract with a school project for the reduction of utility percentage (Spurr), a purchasing group for utility companies that represents public agencies such as schools, as the chosen developer partner for the renewable energy aggregated purchasing (REAP). Under this partnership, DSD will offer solutions for solar and energy storage to public school districts in California, provincial offices of education, community college districts and other public authorities based on the prices and contract conditions of Spurr.

The REAP program helps eligible organizations to streamline their acceptance of solar and energy storage systems through a cooperative purchasing model. To date, the program has facilitated contracts for 275 MW of solar capacity and 80 MWh of energy storage for more than 75 public authorities at hundreds of sites in California.

“We are grateful for Spurr’s chance to deliver economic solutions for solar and storage to schools, municipalities and non-profit organizations in California,” said Jacob Hoheim, senior director of Origination at DSD. “With this partnership we can help public agencies to take control of their energy future, while we expand our footprint from impactful projects in California and continue to carry out our dedication to speed up the acceptance of clean energy for communities.”

REAP Program participants receive unconditional Projectability Studies and Savings analyzes at no cost. These assessments help public agencies to understand their potential energy saving and environmental impact before they are committed to solar energy, which guarantees informed decision-making about their investments in renewable energy.

“Because of us very competitive RFP process, DSD has emerged as the winning seller for our REAP program,” said Kevin Flanagan, program manager at Spurr. “With its unique approach to project design and execution, and a history of successful projects, we are convinced that DSD can help ensure that this program continues to thrive and deliver valuable solutions for solar energy and storage in California.”
