Giant E.ON from Energie-Muchs programs is a cooperation agreement concluded with the British technology company Superdielectrics to promote the development of a new battery technology-based battery technology, mainly aimed at the market for residential energy storage.

The partnership is intended to use E.ON’s market access and data on the needs of residential and business customers, as a supplement to the energy storage approach of Superdielectrics, which focuses on domestic use instead of large -scale implementations.

Battery technology

Superdielectrics describes its core technology as the use of a polymer membrane, whereby the basic material is compared with that in contact lenses. The company claims that this approach depends on rare or expensive metals that are often found in established battery chemistry, such as Lithium-ion.
