Wavelabs, a supplier of test equipment for PV production lines, has launched a new mini-module tester that is aimed at researchers who scale up on Wafers-based and thin film technologies, in particular perovskites.

The new Sinus-1000 Advanced is presented in Intersolar Europe in Munich from 7-9 May 2025. “We see strong interest, especially in the European and Asian markets, “said a spokesperson for the Wavelabs PV Magazine.

The equipment is based on the award -winning LEG diode (LED) technology of the company. It has an A+ classified LED light engine and offers lighting and measurement of sample sizes up to 500 mm x 500 mm, which offer precise characterization and support for emerging PV technologies.

‘With rapid progress in Perovskite technology, industry needs reliable tools to bridge the gap between lab scale cell research and large-scale production, ”said Franziska Wallwiener, Wavelabs Project Manager for Module Fabricage tests, in a statement.

It can support the characterization of the tandem subcel with a “wide range of exposure times”, automatic spectrum calibration with current match tuning and maximum power point (MPP) tracking. The characterization of the module stream performance is more than a series of radiation and temperatures for IEC 61853-1 tests.

According to the company, an integrated spectrometer and intensity sensor with an automated feedback job ensures long -term spectral stability. The system can also be equipped with its own Rapidwave EQE tool of Wavelabs and tandem infrared image formation.
