A Massachusetts Community Solar Farm managed by Perch Energy.

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey de Energy payability, Independence and Innovation Act In a stated attempt to save costs for residents and companies.

The bill focuses on the solar industry in a few ways. Firstly, it would enable the Energy Sources (Doer) department of the State to enter into contracts for new purchasing of clean energy instead of having to be facilitated by a usefulness of use. The legislation would also require Massachusetts tools to update their interconnection processes to reduce the time and costs for customers to connect their solar projects to the schedule.

On the negative side, the bill also sets cutbacks for net reimbursement for non-residential solar projects, including a community solar. The Coalition for Community Solar Access (CCSA) expressed dissatisfaction with that provision of the bill and asked the governor to change course.

“Some of the first community projects in the state in the state, together with many projects that control municipalities and local governments, use net measurement. We are concerned that the proposals in the account of the Governor will put the progress that these and other Zonne programs, such as the Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target, said Kathast, said in Kathast, NortHast Voorcor, said NortHast Voorcor VORORLOR VORORDOR VOROROR press statement. “By changing the compensation percentages of solar projects, Governor Healey takes a step back in reducing clean and affordable energy for residents of Massachusetts.”
