After blocking the budget account last week, the House Budget Committee voted late on Sunday evening to continue to the Huiscommissie for rules, according to The New York Times. Speaker Mike Johnson told Nyt Reporters who have only made “small changes” to win some holdout committee members, and the deliberations can continue until the bill reaches the house floor. Those changes have not yet been released.
The Budget Act as adopted by the Ways and Means Committee on 14 May would eliminate the residential solar ITC after 2025 and gradually be gradual than originally planned large-scale solar and production credits. The budget committee had blocked the bill for the first time because there were not enough cutbacks, so it is still to be seen whether the incentives for clean energy will be further reduced by the final invoice text.
The rules committee will now decide whether and how the bill on the floor of the house will be discussed, together with which changes may be before a definitive mood, according to the Nyt. Speaker Johnson still strives for a floor mood before Memorial Day.
