Extreme weather is a challenge for solar installations, especially in regions such as Florida and the American Midwest. Florida brings intense wind loads and floods to the coast, while the midwest brings hail damage and winter storm risks.

Solar Tracker supplier PV Hardware has one Case Study Investigate how his Solar Tracker Mount Systems projects helped to prevent damage due to the weather, so that assets remain running.

“PV Hardware’s Solar Tracker Solutions provide leading resilient resilience against Florida Hurricanes, Midwest Blizzards, Hagelbuien, Tornados, Floods and Extreme temperatures,” said the Case Study. “By combining reinforced design, fast active storage and intelligent automation, PVH protects solar stands, reduces the weather -related losses and ensures rapid return to the entire generation after side effects.”

The protective functions of the company include automated gusts of wind, which moves modules to a flat corner in about three minutes. The trackers are certified to survive 165 mph Winden and use anemometers to activate early Berdening before wind effects occur. In Florida, the trackers of the company use prediction data to arrive for hours before the stage before a hurricane.

The PV Hardware trackers have a TotalStow function that protects the solar project against multidirectional winds of tornados and sudden gusts of wind. The company said it designs its trackers with shorter riding lengths and implements strong clamps to prevent a domino effect with malfunctions.

The company offers raised foundations for flood -sensitive regions. Sensors lock the trackers and warning operators in the event of a flood. The company also designs its trackers with corrosion -resistant coatings to withstand immersion.

For heavy snow and ice, the trackers tilt steep panels steep to throw snow. PVhardware offers optional snow sensors that automatically trigger snow waste, and has components that have been assessed for temperatures below zero. The electronics works from -22 degrees F to 140 degrees F and have UV -stabilized polymers and high -quality lubricants to prevent demolition.

In the case of hail showers, which the most expensive weather -related claims risk For solar projects, the trackers tilt from the wind away from the wind to reduce incoming hail damage. The Actuation Actuation of Hail Stow responds within a few minutes after hail warnings.

“Automated hail propulsion has protected panels against golf-ball-sized hail in Oklahoma and Nebraska. In straight wind events (derechos), actively stored storers experienced significantly lower cancellation forces than adjacent fixed limitations,” said the CaseSudy.

PVH trackers are: Wind tunnel tested and designed to meet or exceed the Asce 7-16 wind loading requirements, which are approximately 150 km / h in Coastal Florida. The trackers are that too IEC 62817 & UL 3703/2703 certified N for design qualification, safety, binding and grounding.

PVH has an American production facility in Houston, Texas, who said that “ensures compliance with domestic content and rigorous factory tests and ISO certification.”
