Developer of Schone Energy British Solar Renewables (BSR) has submitted a planning application for a 15 MW solar PV energy plant in Kent.

The proposed Harp Farm Solar Park is located near Maidstone, Kent, and will be on approximately 76 hectares of land. In addition to the solar PV panels, substation and associated infrastructure, the site will include a number of improvements of biodiversity, including wild flowers and wild birds seed grasslands. A series of breeding boxes for bats, birds and dorms are also considered part of the application.

If approved, the site is expected to yield a net profit of biodiversity of at least 60%and will be restored to his previous state after a 40-year operational lifespan.

In a message on the Facebook page of the developer, British Solar Renewables states that it is’ enthusiastic about what [the development] Could bring to the environment “, adding:” We believe that solar energy can do more than generate electricity – it can support local ecosystems, strengthen communities and create a cleaner, better future for everyone “.

A large year for BSR

Last week BSR announced that it had launched a community consultation with regard to plans for the Hooton Pagnell Renewable Park, a proposed development of Zonne-Plus-Plus-Storage near Doncaster. If approved, the project delivers a 49.9 MW solar -PV energy plant in combination with a 30 MW battery energy storage system (BESS); The public consultation period for this project is open until July 14 and BSR intends to submit a planning application at the end of August this year.

A decision about if the building permit has to be granted is expected at the last end of 2026; If approved, construction is expected to start in 2034.

However, the most important project in the current BSR pipeline is the most important project in the Little Crow Solar-Plus storage project, which it acquired from IRNG in March of this year. The project, based in Lincolnshire, will contain a 150 MWp Zonne installation plus a Bess of 60 MW and will be designated as a nationally important infrastructure project (NSIP) because of the size of the sun section of development.

The Little CROW project received the planning allocation through the planning inspection in 2022 and also successfully achieved a contract for Difference (CFD) in the Airumn 2024 Auction Round, Allocation Round 6 (AR6). The project is the largest in BSR’s portfolio of more than 700 MWp, and BSR will build and operate; The developers have not yet been unveiled a date before the start or end of the construction.
