GCL System Integration (GCL SI) introduced its NT10/60gt floating solar module at the recent SNEC 2025 -fair in Shanghai. It developed the seawater -resistant solution in collaboration with the Ocean sun of Norway.

During the 2025 SNEC PVer Expo held in Shanghai in Shanghai, GCL System Integration (GCL SI), a unit of the GCL group, showed its NT10/60TGT floating photovoltaic module, a tailor-made product designed for offshore sun collections.

Developed in close collaboration with the Norwegian Navy Solar Specialist Ocean Sun, the module has already been used in floating PV demonstration projects in Brazil and other countries, with the longest-running installation that has been working for more than three years.

The module is designed to meet the extreme requirements of marine environments and offers improved resistance to moisture, corrosion and golf effects.

With a nominal capacity of 480 W and a size of 1,980 mm x 1.166 mm x 40 mm, the NT10/60gt GCL’s own IP68-Rated Junction Box contains four layers of watertight protection. It is mounted on the sun-oriented side of the module, separated from seawater by a special aperture that facilitates heat disipation and minimizes performance loss as a result of thermal structure.

GCL reports that the floating module maintains excellent performance in the conditions with high humidity and saltwater, which exceed the IEC reliability standards, especially with potential induced breakdown (PID) resistance. The module is certified by TÜV Rheinland for Marine PV applications and is designed for long-term immersion scenarios.

The NT10/60GT integrates with the patented floating platform of Ocean Sun, connected via a flexible membrane and prefabricated rails. This approach is not only resistant to offshore wind and wave forces, but also makes efficient heat disiperation possible through direct contact with seawater, which increases the energy -conversion efficiency by more than 10%.

Electrical performance under STC conditions vary from 460 W to 490 W, with a module efficiency of up to 21.78%. The system supports a maximum voltage of 1500 V and is compatible with MC4 connectors, with mechanical characteristics including structure with double glass, anodized aluminum alloy frame and high wind/snow load capacity.
