120 MW Agrivoltaic Solar project in Ohio approved for construction

The Ohio Power Siting Board approved The 120 MW Frasier Solar Project on Thursday in Knox County, Ohio.

Open road renewable energy sourcesThe developer of Frasier, EPC and operator, submitted the project proposal to the OHIO Public Utilities Commission in October 2023. Open Road will build the Array on around 840 hectares in Clinton and Miller Townships, according to the project factor.

The Array uses a single-axis Solar Tracker project and requires extra construction of utilities, such as transmission lines and access roads. The project will integrate Agrivoltaic practices, including grazing sheep and native plants will be sown on the site.

The construction and operation of Frasier expects local communities to receive investments in schools and public services.

“Through projects such as Frasier Solar, Ohio is moving a daring step towards reducing air pollution and combating climate change, making a healthier, more sustainable future for generations,” said Nordstrom.
