Solarpower Europe has underlined the role of the manufacturers of domestic mounting systems in the stimulation of PV implementation throughout Europe, while calling for the approval of international customs codes, stricter quality standards and the inclusion of fixed tensile reporting systems in national resilience technology).

The contribution of the European manufacturers of solar mounting systems and their technologies to the solar success of the region is the focus of a new report from SolarPower Europe. The “Have explained mounting structures of solar energy“Study, launched this week by the Industrial Association, also calls for various policy and legal changes to ensure that the sector remains a strong and resilient link in the solar supply chain.

Assembly systems made from steel and aluminum are crucial for securing solar panels against environmental conditions, with fixed-tilt and follow systems that influence angle, orientation and long-term performance, the analysts have noticed.

“More than 40 different European companies are active in the segment today, in which Spain and Germany together organize 60% of the providers of the EU’s solar assembly system,” the report said. The figure represents manufacturers of the roof, mounted on the ground, building façade, agrivoltaic, carport and other types of PV mounting systems for solar energy.

Of the 40 companies, 70% produce fixing structures with fixed tilt. Half of the solar projects on Utility scale are systems with a fixed tilt and all the roof systems are effective, according to the report.

Looking at tracking systems, Europe organizes, according to the report, five of the top 10 global market leaders for Tracker shipments in 2023.

“Spain is the center of both production and demand in Europe, both in Europe: most solar tracker manufacturers in Europe are located in Spain, where some companies also produce in Italy, Germany and France,” said it.

This group represents a quarter of the global tracker shipments in 2023, while Chinese companies provided 19% of the global Tracker shipments in the same period, the analysts noted.

Solarpower Europe recommends that national governments with fixed tilt do not contain only trackers-with the implementation of the Resilience Technology lists of the Net-Zero Industry Act.

“More than 40 manufacturers of solar assembly systems have a home in Europe, and it is important that the implementation of the EU laws-as the Net-Zero Industry Care that this valuable link in Europe’s Solar Versehoedketens remains unbroken,” said Dries Acke, deputy CEO of Solarpower Europe.

It also called for specific international customs codes for structures and trackers for solar energy that “can help follow and identify the shipments of these components in international trade, as is done for solar strikes and modules.”

Leah Le Pénuizic, a market analyst for SolarPower Europe, said that then systems are one of the most sustainable segments of European solar production.

“Although Europe still meets most of the domestic demand for increasing systems, we can see increasing pressure from non-European competitors,” said Le Pénuizic. “We need different customs codes for this technology to follow trade flows well and robust standards to maintain the quality of solar mounting systems throughout Europe.”

A third recommendation requires harmonized and robust quality standards to cover structural integrity, transparency and guarantees.

The report was produced with the support of Allimex, Enson, GSE IntègratieK2 System, NextRacker, Solarport and Soltec. It is the latest publication dedicated to elements of the European solar chains, such as inverters, production equipment and battery storage systems.
