NC Orchard installs Solar to meet 75% of energy needs on site

Nestled in the foothills of the Brushy Mountains of North Carolina, Deal OrchardsA family farm in the third generation understands the value of creating a more sustainable future. That is why in 2024 it is part of the stone fruit and apple -area in the Certified Program, a rigorous, science -based method for the production of commercial tree fruit, aimed at protecting pollinators, useful insects and environmental sources.

Deal Orchards is the first orchard in the southeast that becomes an ecocertified grower. Now the company can add 75% of its energy needs with on-site solar energy to its list of environmentally friendly practices.

Pisgah Energy worked closely with deal orchards to the Solar project on the roof On the road to the road and the packaging house. This system, a total of 77 kW and with Qcells and SolarEdge products, will serve as an electrical generation on location and produce more than 95,000 kWh of clean, renewable energy annually.

“We have decided to install solar energy for two very practical reasons -to reduce our CO2 footprint and our energy bills,” said Alan Deal, President of Deal orchards. “Legacy is important for us and the fact that we can do the right thing for the future of our community and surroundings, while now saving money is fantastic. We are grateful to Pisgah Energy for everything they have done to blossom our vision.”
