Slovenia opens a € 29 million call to finance priority solar, wind projects – PV Magazine International

Slovenia has opened a call of € 29 million ($ 33.7 million) under the Modernization Fund of the European Union to support priority solar and wind projects, with applications for January 7, 2026.

SloveniaThe Ministry of Environment, Climate and Energy has one investment call co-financing of solar and wind energy projects that have granted priority status.

A total of € 29.5 million is available via the Modernization Fund of the European Union. Eligible projects can apply for a subsidy for a maximum of 45% of the project costs.

If the Energy Storage Capacities project includes, a subsidy that covers up to 30% of the associated costs can also be applied, provided that the storage capacity is at least 0.75 kWh for every 1 kW of the nominal capacity of the power plant.

The subsidy chance follows a qualifying round that will be held in 2023 that one Indicative list of priority projects. Of the 21 projects given the top priority status that is necessary to be eligible for this subsidy option, four solar projects are. The majority on the list are grid investments.

Eligible project developers have until January 7, 2026 to apply for subsidies. The financing must be supplied during the tax 2025-29, or until the money is used up.

Slovenia installed 298.8 MW From solar energy in 2024, largely powered by residential installations, which brought its cumulative capacity to 1.4 GW. The Slovenian government approved one 30 MW ZonNboerderij In May – the largest so far.
