On July 17 the department of the interior sec. Doug Burgum would start an “increased assessment” process for solar and wind projects on federal countries. The announcement comes in response to the executive Order of President Trump 14315, for which DOI was needed to investigate their assessments of solar and wind projects. The DOI approves wind and solar projects on public land through the agency or land management.

DOI said that department-related decisions and actions with regard to wind and solar energy facilities will now undergo an increased assessment by the secretary’s office, including leases, lease-of-way, construction and operation plans, subsidies, consultations and biological opinions. DOI said it will tackle the facilities in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act to eliminate “long-term priority and capacity costs for existing and future wind and solar projects.”

“Today’s announcement by the Ministry of the Interior comes down to a tsunami of bureaucracy and roadblocks for private investments in wind and solar energy projects,” said Ray Long, President and CEO of the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE), in a press statement. “Require Minister of the Interior Doug Burgum’s personal approval of at least 69 different permits – from renting out sites to rights through Say requests – on possibly hundreds of projects represents an unnecessary and inefficient approach to the National Energy Dominance Council: TO TOTY DOMINANANDY COUNINANCE COUNINANANCE COUNINANance Council Dominance Dominance Dominance Dominance Dominance Dominance Dominance Dominance.
