Modular PV manufacturer Canyon Solar has successfully installed 250 KWP Zonne-Zonne energy in one night as part of a three-week build in a shopping center in northeastern Australia.
So far, Canyon Solar has completed its fastest project delivery with the installation of a 250 kW prefabricated solar shadow structure in the parking lot of the Warner Marketplace shopping center in Brisbane, Australia.
Canyon Solar, based in Sydney, said the project, delivered in collaboration with Smart commercial solar energy And Woolworths, the installation of 36 prefabricated pods over 78 motorcycle speeds, where the entire Build lasts three weeks to complete, from start to end.
The modular solar peaks were mounted on 11 columns with screw pier foundations, some extend to 9 meters deep due to poor soil conditions. The structure also has a provision for DC -fast chargers of electric vehicles, is completely waterproof and has integrated lighting.
Founder of Canyon and Chief Executive Officer Will Beaumont said that strict requirements to minimize the impact of the construction work, the decision to the crane in the Spanpods-the largest spant 14.7 meters in night to minimize the disturbance and limit the build program.
“The only feasible way to do this without closing the parking lot was to do it at night,” he said, adding that it was about a month to prepare for the nightworks. “We needed approval from the shopping center management, the detailed construction management plan and all the planning of safety and logistics to deliver five semi-trailer loads of solar pods that were organized during the night,” he said. “This also included two tap plows, one crew for the 60 -tonne mobile crane and one crew for the [25 metric ton] Franna [crane]. “
Beaumont said it was the first time that Canyon Solar Night Work has tested for Pods in Kraan and it worked “an absolute treat … This was an important milestone project for us because it ultimately validated our most important hypothesis. A prefabricated sunburn capacity can easily and lower than competing in-sitemen.”
The company said the benefits of prefabricated sunscreen dogs are increasingly recognized by customers, with the company installing nearly 2 MWp since he completed his first commercial project two years ago. It also has 1.5 MWp of projects in the pipeline.
“If you want shadow and installed solar capacity, it is now a no-brainer to combine these two in a sunscreen contracts,” said Beaumont, adding that the prefabricated system can be installed at least three times faster than traditional systems and out-competitors.
“In general, our system costs are competitive with the costs for installing a shade cloth with equivalent size and a roof sun,” he said. “Moreover, unlike shade cloth, our solar canopy is completely waterproof, has a design of 30 years, double that of shade cloth and shows a dedication to sustainability that shoppers can actually see.”
