Canadian solar energy Energy Storage Division is launching a huge lithium battery system on RE+next week. The Flexbank 1.0 is a scalable Bess of 8.36 MWh of e-storage. The new system is expected to be ready for the deployment in 2026.

With the modular open-frame architecture of Flexbank 1.0, each cabinet can function as an independent building block, so that logistics and installation are considerably simplified. The Flexbank platform also serves as a basis for the next generation of battery cell technologies from E-Storage that will have a higher current in a larger form factor and superior performance characteristics.

Built on the 314-ah lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) Celt technology of e-Storage, Flexbank 1.0 increases safety via a multi-layer security system. Within each cupboard, cells are protected by heat barriers, an electrical protection system on three levels and advanced precision management at cell level. The modular design is designed to prevent thermal reproduction between cupboards, so that the fire risk is considerably mitigated. The datasheet Gives the Bess length at 34.5 feet with five cupboards.

In addition, Flexbank 1.0’s Skid-mounted design makes fast on-site assembly and versatile layout configurations possible, including side-by-side and back-to-back installations. This flexibility lowers EPC costs and maximizes the energy density of the project. The system is fully compatible with power conversion systems and ensures seamless integration for both new implementations and site enlargements.

“Flexbank 1.0 is the strategic evolution of our energy drilling platform on Nuts scale, designed to meet the critical needs of our customers to safe, adaptable and cost-effective solutions,” said Colin Parkin, President of E-Storage. “By dramatically simplifying the implementation, we offer a more reliable and adaptable technology that will speed up the global transition to renewable energy and deliver tangible value for developers and investors.”
