The Philippines‘Fourth Green Energy Auction (GEA-4) obtained a subscription of 88%, with 9,423 MW of the 10,653 MW allocated capacity that has been registered, published according to provisional figures published by the Ministry of Energy of the Land (Doe).

The auction, FIrst announced Earlier this yearaccepted bids for the ground mounted, roof-mounted and floating solar sun, as well as onshore wind and integrated solar energy with energy storage systems (Iress).

The Doe said in a statement that the non -disguise capacity mainly consists of floating solar, on -hore wind and ires allocations. Not -written capacity is offered for a subscription to qualified bidders with accepted bids that exceeded the first goals. The Ministry noted that this mechanism ensures that non -ethnic installation goals are maximized under the auction, which means that “there is no opportunity for the development of renewable energy”, unused.

The auction received 111 accepted bids from private developers. Winning bidders will promote their projects by submitting post auction requirements, including a performance union and system effect studies. The government said that this process ensures that the dedicated capacities are delivered in full and technically verified for raster integration.

Projects granted under GEA-4 is expected to start delivery between 2026 and 2029.

The land third green energy auction (GEA -3) Earlier this year, 7.5 GW drew bids, mainly driven by pumped -hydro storage and much more than the goal of 4.65 GW. The GEA-2 auction assigned 1.97 GW Van Zonne capacity in July 2023, with the selected developers containing 20-year-old electricity buy agreements.

The Philippines are committed to reaching a share of 35% of renewable energy sources Mix of power generation by 2030, increasing to 50% by 2040 and more than half by 2050.
