China connects the largest hybrid storage factory for battery-supercondensator-PV Magazine International

China has a 100 MW hybrid energy storage facility connected to the schedule. It integrates super capacitors and lithium ion batteries, which sets up a new benchmark for ultra-fast frequency regulation services.

A 100 MW hybrid frequency regulation factory in the northern province of Shanxi, North China, was connected to the grid at the end of August and is expected to take full commercial operation according to the developers in September after testing in September.

The facility is promoted as the world’s largest supercondensator-based installation and combines a supercondensatoraRay of 58 MW/30 seconds with 42 MW/42 MWH Lithium-ion battery storage, with a footprint of approximately 16,800 square meters. The total capital investment was reported on CNY 670 million.
