The French startup Ecojoko is expanding its home energy management offer with a special contactor to arrange electric boilers. “The first tests with real users took place this summer and we accelerated the launch for the VAT reduction of 5.5%,” said Pierre Picavet, marketing director of the company. PV Magazine France.
The Ecojoko control package already includes the associated assistant of the company with a display, sensors and mobile app to check and optimize the energy consumption of households. It will soon be linked to a special contactor to control the boiler. “For the installation you must both install the assistant, as is the case today, and the contactor in the electrical panel,” Picavet said.
The company said that the full package could increase the profitability of a solar installation by approximately five years by increasing the self-consumption rate and at the same time lower general use. It noted that 80% of Ecojoko users with solar panels also have an electric boiler.
The system is based on a sensor that is attached to the main current breaker, which records the power consumption in real time. The sensor communicates by radio with the assistant in a living room, which shows real -time use by device for members of the household. The data is also sent to a mobile app, so that users can identify consumption points and manage the use better.
Ecojoko, founded in 2017, wants to make electricity consumption visible to reduce the avoidable demand and to coordinate domestic use to the production of solar energy by moving taxes during the day.
