O&M service provider for residential solar Otovo has entered into an agreement to acquire Solar Service Professionals (SSP), a solar energy service provider based in California. The acquisition of SSP, expected to close in early January, marks Otovo’s entry into America’s largest residential solar and storage market, California.

Founded in 2017, SSP has built a specialist solar services business with an installed customer base of 38,000. SSP will be integrated into Otovo’s growing service operations. Otovo will work to convert its existing California base of SSP customers to its subscription service, with the expectation that this initiative will be accretive to net revenues in 2026.

“This strategic acquisition represents a pivotal moment for Otovo’s U.S. expansion, as we launch our innovative AI-powered energy service in California and potentially other markets thereafter, laying a foundation for significant growth through 2026,” said William J. (John) Berger, CEO of Otovo.

Otovo’s all-in-one energy partner model unifies retail electricity, energy services (operation and maintenance) and grid trading through a cloud-connected virtual power plant. The AI-native Endurance platform can assess issues and route the appropriate crew in real-time, connecting technicians, trucks and installed equipment into one responsive network. The live tracking function closes the loop with customers, while optimized routing increases the number of first repairs while reducing the number of trips.
