Technical ceramics manufacturer CoorsTek has placed the order Turn energy to construct three off-site net-metered solar projects to support the company’s operations in northeastern Colorado. The arrays, with a total capacity of 10.4 MWDC, will be built in Greeley.
Once operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 20 million kWh of solar energy annually, enough to meet approximately 40% of CoorsTek’s electricity consumption at six of its Colorado facilities. CoorsTek’s ceramic products are used in a range of industries, including automotive, energy infrastructure and consumer electronics.
“This partnership with Pivot Energy reflects our commitment to a more resilient and sustainable future for CoorsTek and our communities,” said Dara Ward, CoorsTek director of sustainability. “By securing clean energy and controlling electricity costs, these products meaningfully reduce our carbon footprint in Colorado and move us closer to achieving our long-term climate vision.”
Under the off-site net metering structure, CoorsTek will receive credits on its utility bills for the energy produced by the project, with no upfront capital investments and no ongoing operation or maintenance costs. CoorsTek will also retain 100% of the renewable energy credits (RECs) generated by the project to work toward emissions reduction goals.

Construction will start in the second half of 2026 and commercial operation is expected in the summer of 2027.
