After separately launching drone-based cleaning agents and solutions for agrivoltaic systems last year, the next step for Chemitek Solar is to unveil a cleaning solution that is safe for agrivoltaic systems and can be applied by drones. Chemitek has developed its Drone AgroPV Cleaning Agent and will officially launch it at Intersolar Europe 2026 in June.

Agrivoltaic systems pose unique operational challenges, including the accumulation of organic pollution, agricultural residues, particulate matter, limited accessibility and coexistence with crops. These conditions often limit or make conventional cleaning methods impractical, creating the need for advanced, drone-compatible chemical solutions that ensure effective cleaning while maintaining agricultural operations and crop development.

The Drone AgroPV Cleaning Agent integrates Chemitek Solar’s AgroPV product range, completing a portfolio of biodegradable cleaning, water treatment and pollution control solutions designed for agricultural voltaic systems. The development is part of the Alliance for Energy Transition, Project Code: 56, Reference No. C644914747-00000023, funded by the PRR – Recovery and Resilience Plan (Portugal), which strengthens Chemitek Solar’s commitment to technological innovation, energy transition and the sustainable integration of solar energy production with agricultural activities.

Key highlights of the Drone AgroPV Cleaning Agent include its high efficiency in removing organic pollution and agricultural residues; full compatibility with drone-based spray systems; safe formulation for crops and soil; and reduced water consumption and minimal operational impact on agricultural land. The product is developed with a strong focus on sustainability and safety. It is a biodegradable formula and is compatible with seed germination and plant growth.

“The use of drones for cleaning agricultural voltaic systems represents a decisive step forward for this segment. Our goal is to provide a chemical solution specifically adapted to this technology and that combines efficiency, safety and sustainability,” said César Martins, CEO of Chemitek Solar.
