SiteCapture has been unveiled SiteCaptureAI for solar energya new AI-powered product designed to automate construction site documentation, quality control and reporting workflows for solar operations.

SiteCaptureAI helps solar companies more efficiently manage site surveys, installations, financing benchmarks, and operations and maintenance (O&M) workflows by automatically viewing construction site photos, videos, and field reports in real-time. The core capabilities include:

  • Photo and video intelligence Analyzes visual documentation captured in the field to detect system components, identify equipment condition, extract key text from labels and placards, generate summaries, and transcribe technician video stories.
  • Verification of field reporting ensures required photos, videos and project data are thoroughly captured before crew leaves the job site.
  • Automated quality control validates installation, safety and compliance requirements for each job.
  • Real-time field alerts notify crews immediately if issues are detected and provide guidance so teams can resolve them while still on site.
  • Custom workflows allowing operations teams to create their own AI automations tailored to their unique business needs.

Together, these capabilities help solar companies avoid additional truck rolls, reduce manual data entry, reduce QA/QC review time, improve approval rates for financing milestones, and accelerate project timelines.

“SiteCaptureAI enables our QA/QC team to identify photo documentation issues before installation crews leave the job site,” said Graham Horne, installation QA/QC manager at Powur. “Ensuring our quality control and partner financial documentation requirements are met the first time will deliver significant efficiency gains for our team, reduce truck counts, minimize rework and improve first-time financing approval rates.”

Efficiency as a competitive advantage

Operational efficiency is becoming one of the most important factors for solar companies’ profitability. According to the The U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Benchmark Reportsoft costs account for approximately 38% of residential solar installation costs, making them one of the biggest levers installers can pull to increase profitability.

Solar energy companies generate large volumes workplace documentation every day, with photos, videos, inspection reports and compliance documentation. To address the challenges of organizations that rely on manual review processes, SiteCaptureAI automates documentation review and standardizes field reporting workflows, helping teams identify issues earlier and complete projects faster.

“Solar companies are under enormous pressure to maintain installation quality while operating with fewer resources,” said Kamal Shah, founder and CEO of SiteCapture. “SiteCaptureAI makes that possible by automating some of the most time-consuming and error-prone aspects of solar operations. By reducing manual work and automatically identifying and resolving issues in real time, we believe installers can reduce quality control costs by up to 50 percent, maintain high standards and complete projects faster than ever.”

SiteCaptureAI is now available to solar organizations looking to streamline their field operations, shorten project timelines and operate more efficiently.
