Allye Energy’s MAX300 has been upgraded for charging at the 400 kW depot

UK mobile battery storage company Allye Energy has upgraded its MAX300 product for fleet operators electrifying their depots.

The MAX300 battery energy storage system (BESS) offers up to 300 kWh, thanks to the integration of 800V battery architecture. Allye uses waste EV batteries in its storage systems and says 800V is now the leading voltage standard used in most advanced EV platforms.

Higher voltage batteries allow the portable BESS to support DC charging up to 400 kW. According to the company, that also offers higher capacity stationary storage Powered by recycled EV batteries, MAX300 means fleet operators can upgrade their depot charging facilities without the cost and delay of network upgrades.

The use of BESS to maximize a location’s capacity is becoming increasingly common in electric vehicle charging. BloombergNEFs Energy storage outlook H1 2026 The report showed that the BESS capacity combined with electric vehicle charging in China, France, US and UK has reached almost 1 GWhwhile China is expected to deploy more than 10 GWh more.

It can enable faster or smaller grid connections, it better enables on-site self-consumption of solar energy, and charging patterns can be optimized to take advantage of price signals or ancillary service markets.

Robert Carter, CTO at Allye Energy, says: “A fleet operator doesn’t have to wait months for an upgrade to the electricity grid before they can charge their vehicles. With the MAX300, that no longer has to be done. Connect it to an existing connection and you immediately have up to 400 kW DC fast charging at your disposal.

“You can also charge this system on the go via a public DC fast charger. The engineering behind it is really complex – the operator experience is truly simple. With over 300 kWh of storage, the system continues to run long after competing systems run out of power. And when no vehicles are charging, that same storage capacity monetizes network services. It’s a fundamentally different proposition than anything else on the market.”

The trailer-mounted BESS also features a DC-to-DC architecture that integrates Allye’s fast DC charging system with minimal energy loss in transmission. It is available in both CCS and NACS standards and supports voltages from 200 V to 1,000 V; these specifications include all EV charging formats currently on the market.

According to the company, the “remarkable” price for the system, at £99,000 (US$126,610), is equivalent to the cost of some standalone DC fast charging systems, which come with the additional cost of the required grid connection.
