Waaree Energies, India’s largest solar panel manufacturer, said this week it has won a contract to supply 445 MW of its bifacial modules to Statkraft India’s single-site PV projects in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

It will supply its 540/545Wp double-glazed bifacial modules. Delivery of the modules is scheduled between May and August 2024.

“This partnership with Statkraft India represents a critical step in our collective mission to contribute to the transformation of renewable energy in India. By harnessing the power of solar energy and leveraging our technology, we are not only lighting up households but also aiming to contribute to economic growth and employment generation in the region,” said Hitesh Doshi, Chairman and general manager of Waaree Energies. “This project demonstrates our commitment to advancing domestic manufacturing, strengthening communities and helping India move towards a sustainable future.”

The Norwegian Statkraft produces hydropower, wind energy, solar energy and gas-fired energy. It also provides district heating. It has more than 6,000 employees in more than 20 countries. It has been present in India since 2004 and has a production capacity of 215 MW, with an annual output of approximately 1,310 GWh.
