Chinese-Australian company Clenergy said its standalone power system (SAPS) with 18 kW of solar energy coupled with 270 kWh of battery energy storage has been used by a mining company to provide autonomous power for its communications facilities in its North Queensland operations.

The SAPS is centered around Clenergy’s PVezRack ezShade 2.0 sunshade system, a ground-mounted solution for the installation of landscape modules.

The system was originally designed by Clenergywhich was founded in Melbourne in 2007 but has always had its manufacturing operations in China, to provide on-site power generation and accommodation for residential and commercial parking projects.

In this case, the system includes 18 kW double-sided solar panels from SunPower, Eltek inverters and a 270 kWh battery energy storage system from GenZ with lithium ferrophosphate (LFP) technology. This is supported by two 30 kVA / 24 kW diesel generators with remote start capability, controlled by the SAPS energy system.

Clenergy said the SAPS runs primarily on solar power and battery backup, with the generator only used when the battery is low.

The entire solution, including the construction of a 60-metre mast, was installed in less than three months by Perth-based company Radlink.

Vince Mobilio, vice president of Clenergy, said the project showcases “the exceptional versatility of ezShade 2.0.”

“We are thrilled with the success of this remarkable project,” he said. “It signifies not only the enormous potential and versatility of the solar shading solution, but also a future where solar innovation transforms industries.”
