Arch Solar and SolarEdge have announced new solar portfolios with two Wisconsin cities: Edgerton and Wauwatosa. While Edgerton opted for an all-in portfolio installation of five buildings, completed in spring 2025, Wauwatosa is taking a phased approach, with the most recent implementation at the Police Department. In Edgerton, city leaders pursued an ambitious goal: installing solar power in five municipal buildings in one coordinated effort. The city now offsets 64% of its municipal energy consumption, reducing carbon emissions while maintaining crucial city services. The 82.4 kWdirect current The rooftop solar portfolio includes the city hall, the DPW garage, the police…
The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) says new federal permitting, taxing and subsidy policies mean more than 13,000 MW of planned solar and battery capacity in Texas are at risk of not coming online in 2026, while much larger volumes will be exposed in 2027. November 20, 2025 Ryan Kennedy By pv magazine USA Federal policies focused on renewable energy are causing catastrophic damage to development in Texas, the nation’s largest state for solar and energy storage, SEIA said. SEIA has released an analysis showing that new federal policies focused on renewable energy seriously jeopardize a significant majority of Texas’…
Encore renewable energy has begun construction on the 4.99 MW Poverty Plains Solar Project, a community solar project on a former gravel pit in Warner, New Hampshire. The project will provide affordable clean energy to 11 communities across the state, through the Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire (CPCNH). Racking and mounting installation on the project. “New Hampshire has a lot of potential when it comes to capitalizing on its energy solutions, and Poverty Plains Solar is proof of what is possible,” said Chad Farrell, founder and co-CEO of Encore Renewable Energy. “From lowering electricity rates to revitalizing a previously…
Gresham House Energy Storage Fund (GRID) has announced the signing of a sale and purchase agreement for the conditional purchase of a 100MW/200MWh battery storage system in West Yorkshire. The project, located in Elland, West Yorkshire and called Elland 2, will last for two hours and could be extended to a longer duration “in due course”, GRID said. The company calls itself the largest UK listed fund investing in large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS).Elland 2 is adjacent to an operational location, Elland 1, which is already owned by GRID. This was announced by the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC). 15th Annual National Solar Jobs Censusshowing that the U.S. solar industry employed 280,119 workers in 2024, about the same as the industry’s employment in 2023. While these 2024 data do not reflect the impact of major changes in federal energy policy implemented since the new administration took office in January 2025 – such as the cancellation of key tax credits as part of the repeal of the Inflation Reduction Act – they provide a critical basis for measuring the effects of these policies on solar and other clean energy employment…
