AMPYR Energy USA has announced the signing of long-term power purchase agreements for two projects totaling 195 MWp of utility-scale solar generation in South Carolina. The PPAs were completed with Duke Energy and included four hours of energy storage for one of the projects. SolBank 3.0 from e-STORAGE Canadian Solar subsidiary e-STORAGE announced this week its intention to open a 3 GWh energy storage manufacturing plant in Shelbyville, Kentucky. e-STORAGE will operate from an existing 1 million feet2 factory that would previously house EnerVenue’s metal-hydrogen battery production, as first confirmed Energy storage news. EnerVenue has left the operating contract after “production delays”. e-STORAGE will invest $712 million in the facility, creating 1,500 jobs.
