China’s Nea The country said 104.93 GW of new solar capacity installed in the first four months of 2025, including 45.22 GW alone in April – an increase of 214.68% year in year – which emphasized the rapid pace of the expansion of the renewable energy sources. By the end of April, the total installed generation capacity reached 3.49 TW, an increase of 15.9% compared to a year earlier, with solar energy at 990 GW and wind at 540 GW. Despite the profits, power consumption fell, with the average duration of the equipment fell for 103 hours on an annual basis to 1,008 hours. Investments in the electricity generation by large energy companies rose by 1.6% to CNY 193.3 billion ($ 26.68 billion), while the investments of the NET rose 14.6% to CNY 140.8 billion.

The China Non -Ferrous Metal Industry Association (Cnmia) said that the prices of polysilicon remained stable this week, with N-Type re-processed material of CNY 38,600/ton, and n-type grainy silicon on CNY 36,000/ton. P-type polysilicon average CNY 31,300/ton. The CNMIa said that the prices will stabilize after months of decline, because manufacturers stopped or reduced in May in May to manage oversupply risks. Despite the start of the hydropower season in South China, large producers did not resume or expanded. The number of active producers fell from 13 to 11, all work with a reduced capacity. China imported 954.33 tons and exported 1,262,29 tons of polysilicon in April, according to customs data.
