13-MW District Place of Community Solar Portfolio in New York approaches completion

Castillo Engineering was selected by Montante Solar To offer design and engineering services on two of Calibrant energy‘s District of Community projects in Niagara, New York, a total of 13 MW. Currently under construction, the Ballast projects, fixed tilting technology use and it is expected that the completion will be achieved in the first quarter of 2025.

“We are grateful that we have entered into a partnership with Castillo Engineering with this challenging Solar project of deposit in New York,” said Steve Erck, VP at Montante Solar. “Their width of expertise – from civil to electric to structural – has played an important role in streamlining this project and optimizing each site while the sensitive landfill is protected.”

These two new solar projects for landfills contribute to the position of New York as the state with the the biggest installed community solar capacity.

“The ability of Montante Solar to achieve reliable efficiency and to manage projects efficiently – especially with complex landscapes solar projects – is exceptional,” said Christopher Castillo, CEO of Castillo Engineering. “We are proud to collaborate with a market leader such as Montante Solar in transforming these previously unusable locations in a source of more affordable, reliable and clean energy that these communities will serve for coming generations.”
