Array technologiesa global provider of utility-scale solar tracking, has integrated 77° stowage options for its tracker systems, providing new protection against both hail and wind conditions.

As the solar industry and insurance partners increasingly need risk management strategies due to the increasing frequency of multi-million dollar hail damage, the need for reliable and effective hail mitigation has never been greater. By placing the tracker-compatible modules at a high angle, the risk of damage from approaching hail is significantly reduced.

“Array continues to invest in new technology in the name of preparation, ensuring our trackers are built to thrive in any weather, any disruption, while remaining cost-effective for our customers,” said Kevin G. Hostetler, CEO of Array. “This solution is a testament to ARRAY’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge technologies that address the real challenges facing solar manufacturers. The high-tilt tracker, like the Hail Alert Response and SkyLink system, is not only a step forward in securing solar energy investments; it is a leap towards a more reliable and sustainable future.”

This latest storage option is based on Array’s DuraTrack single-axis tracker design and SmarTrack Hail Alert Response software. Array claim modules stored in this high tilt position see a 5% energy gain compared to active storage trackers.

Updates to the tracker itself include a new bearing housing, a larger rack and an advanced damper that allows for a steeper angle. This system update is expected to be available for initial shipments in early 2026.
