General Motors launches storage system for homes – SPE

The US-based automotive manufacturing company said its new storage system offers the ability to integrate with PV systems. It can be scaled up to reach a capacity of up to 35.4 kWh, which the company says would allow for around 20 hours of storage.

US-based automotive manufacturing company General Motors (GM) has announced that its GM Energy unit has launched a modular energy storage system for residential applications.

“GM Energy is expanding its portfolio with the launch of the GM Energy PowerBank, a stationary storage product that gives EV owners the ability to store and transfer energy from the grid, and the ability to integrate with solar equipment” , the company said. a statement.

The system is available in two versions with a capacity of 10.6 kWh and 17.7 kWh respectively, and can be scaled up to reach a capacity of up to 35.4 kWh, which according to the manufacturer would allow approximately 20 hours of storage based on the average daily household capacity. The energy consumption of appliances in the United States is approximately 30 kWh.
