Amerlux, a Delta Group company and manufacturer of high-end lighting, has announced that it will install a 1,525 MW rooftop solar energy system at its global headquarters and manufacturing facility. This initiative underscores Amerlux’s commitment to achieving Net Zero Energy and leadership in sustainable lighting in the US

The project, which will start in late 2024 and be completed in 2025, is in line with Amerlux’s goal of achieving its 200,000 feet of low-carbon2 manufacturing facility in Oakland, New Jersey, just as its parent company, Delta Electronics, has established at its U.S. headquarters in Fremont, California.

“Our goal is to be the first U.S. lighting company to achieve Net Zero Energy across its operations, with 100% of energy demand met by on-site renewable energy,” said Chuck Campagna, CEO of Amerlux. “This initiative aligns with our long-term sustainability goals and underlines our commitment to creating a greener future for the next generation. By using solar energy, we are taking an important step towards reducing our ecological footprint and setting a good example in the lighting industry.”

The solar project is expected to supply 100% of the on-site electricity needs and will utilize Delta’s Next-Gen 60 kW inverters.

In addition, Amerlux plans to upgrade its HVAC system with advanced sensors and controls from Delta Group companies Delta Controls and LOYTEC to improve annual HVAC energy efficiency and optimize performance.
