EDPR powers on 3.4 MW Maine Community Solar Project

EDPR NA Distributed Generation The 3.4-MWAC Bristol I Community Solar Project in Bristol, Maine completed and ratified. This remains the growth of EDPR after DG in the community sector of the community, with more than 61 MWAC operational assets that include 32 projects in six states.

Power generated from Bristol I am going to more than 400 residential and small business subscribers throughout South Maine who have registered to gain power of the community project through EDPR’s partner, powermarket.

For the development of Bristol I, EDPR collaborated with local developer Midcoast Solar, where E&S Electric Company offers building services. Moreover, EDPR has involved its local team members in the development of the project.

“As a proud MAINER I am not only honored to be part of the development team for Bristol I, but also to be a customer of the project,” said David Kane, director of EDPR Na DG. “Maine is one of the leading states in the energy transition with more than 600 MW solar sun now connected to the grid.”

Bristol I will offer constant economic benefits to the local community, which since 2023 has already contributed more than $ 123,000 investments in the form of tax payments for critical services related to schools, public safety and road maintenance. The project created more than 40 building tracks.

“Maine is a leader in developing reliable, affordable, clean and own energy for its residents and his economy,” said Eliza Donoghue, executive director of the Mainewable Energy Association. “Partners such as EDPR after Distributed Generation and Community Solar projects such as Bristol I are what the State needs to continue to grow while investing in its energy seeking perspective and retains the reliability of the network.”

EDP ​​Renewables Noord-America and EDPR NA DG have been working in Maine for two decades and are developing solar projects on Utility-Scale and Distributed scale. In addition to this new project, EDPR has an extra 27 MWAC from Community -Zonne projects that are currently under construction.
