OCI Energy and Arava Power are their second agreement concluded forms of a joint venture to develop Project Sunroper, a 260 MWAC Sun farm in Wharton County, Texas.

The project is approximately 60 miles southwest of the center of Houston and offers a critical clean energy capacity for one of the highest areas with the demand for electricity in Texas and the United States. Project Sunner is planned to start construction in 2025.

“The partnership between OCI Energy and ARAVA Power reflects our shared vision of promoting solutions for solar energy and improving the reliability of the network in the demanding markets. Project Sunroper is an important step forward to stimulate economic growth and energy breach in Texas and beyond, which promotes our mission to make a sustainable, prosperous future possible, “said Sabah Bayatli, President, OCI Energy.

This joint venture marks the continuation of a collaboration between OCI energy and Arava Power. In 2021, ARAVA Power Project Sunray from OCI Energy, a 200 MW, took overAC Solar Farm in Uvalde County, Texas, who recently became operational in September 2024.

Sidley Austin LLP served as a legal adviser to OCI Energy, while Norton Rose Fulbright Arava Power represented in this transaction.
