The heating specialist based in the US said that its new air-water heat pumps use Difluoromethane as a coolant and have a performance coefficient up to 5.37.

The American manufacturer of heat pump manufacturer Weil-Mlain has unveiled a new heat pompline for residential and light commercial applications.

“The ECO HP-Air-Water heat pump works efficiently at milder temperatures, seamless switching to the boiler during extreme cold to guarantee consistent heat, hot water production and reduces energy consumption throughout the year,” the company said in a statement.

The new products are available in three different versions with capacities ranging from 19.04–41.29 BTU/H to 21.94–54.25 BTU/H.

For all systems, the outdoor unit measures 112 cm x 86 cm x 53 cm and weighs 96 kg, while the interior unit has a size of 43 cm x 79 cm x 28 cm and weighs 31.3 kg.

The new heat pumps have a performance coefficient (COP) ranging from 4.50 to 5.37 and use R32 (Difluoromethane) as a coolant. It is said that they can deliver hot water temperatures of up to 65 C.

The systems also depend on a bionic fan design, which is said to reduce the noise levels, a double rotor compressor, a coolant-to-water heat exchanger, a circulator and checks.

The new products can be implemented via all-in-one installation, phase installation or retrofit-upgrades. “We have designed the system for phased installation, so that contractors can quickly restore heat with a heat pump-ready boiler in the winter, and add the outside of heat pump in warmer months to maximize efficiency without interrupting home comfort,” the company explained.

“This setup ensures that houses stay warm, even in the coldest climates by using the efficiency of the heat pump during milder temperatures and the reliability of the boiler as a backup,” said it. “The hybrid approach not only expands the life expectancy of both devices, but also offers significant energy saving, making it a budget -friendly and environmentally conscious choice.”
