MITION Company for designing and building elements Green’s 360MW Bess

Elements Green has signed a deal with G2 Energy from Mition to design and build its 360 MW/720MWH Battery Energy Storage System (Bess) in Nottinghamshire.

Under the £ 71.5 million deal, G2 will also be responsible for the corresponding 400kV grid connection infrastructure. The project is located near StayTorpe National Grid Substation, northwest of Newark-on-Trent.

Elements Green Secure building permit for the project in June last year and the target date for the operational project is 2026. Work will start on site this month and the construction is expected to create around 60 jobs.

G2 Energy moved to full Bess -Singpakte EPC services under Mition when it was taken over in 2023. As covered Energy storage. last year, MITION NAM G2 -Energy On because Dcarbonising Buildings is a growing part of the enormous division for facility management with many large commercial and industrial (C&I) customers who have specific plans for the next 3-5 years.

Elements Green CEO Rasmus Friis called the ‘Landmark’ partnership an important step forward in delivering the project, which is one of the largest in Europe.

Kelvin Ruck, director of Mition Power & Grid, said that the companies have worked together in recent months to optimize the design and delivery schedule of the project. Ruck, together with G2 Coo Nigel Hughes and 50 other employees, moved to Mition when the G2 was underway.

Elements Green is also busy obtaining a development assignment order (DCO) for the 800 MW Great North Road Solar and Biodiversity Park in Nottinghamshire. The second phase of legal consultation for the development, which will also contain battery storage, closed earlier this week.
