Desert Garden United Church of Christ (UCC), in collaboration with Revolv, recently held a solar energy celebration for its new 47-KW solar array, format to generate 100% of the energy needs of the church.

The celebration of the church in Sun City West, Arizona, included a ribbon cutting ceremony, short comments from the church pastor, installer Capital Energy and financier REWV.

“Our decision to go solar energy represents our dedication to the preservation and protection of God’s beautiful creation by being good stewards of our environment and community,” said Pastor Bill or Desert Garden UCC. “We are honored to serve as an example for congregations and non-profit organizations in Arizona, with the benefits of solar energy and the convenience of transition with zero-down financing options, such as re-VOLVs and Federal Solar Bining stimuli.”

The $ 14,000 estimated annual solar savings will enable the church to deepen their impact in the community. In 2024, the church donated more than $ 25,000 and regularly offered itself to support local community initiatives in supporting risky young people to help homeless seniors to find housing. Specific initiatives include promoting accessible transport through its cycles of friendliness bike program that collects used bicycles, repairing and donating them to schools in communities with a low income and homeless shelter. Desert Gardens also supports hunger dependence by hosting regular citrus ceremonies and donating products to St. Mary’s Food Bank.

“With his abundance of sun all year round, Arizona could be the solar capital of the country,” said Senator Lauren Kuby of District 8. “This investment in Desert Garden United Church of Christ represents proactive movement in the direction of a future of clean energy. And they are not alone. Sun for our Models is.”
