The European Commission (EC) has authorized a Czech State State Regulation of € 279 million ($ 303 million) to support investments in electricity storage facilities and to promote the transition to a net-zero economy.

In an announcement released on March 7, 2025, the executive arm of the European Union said that the Czech regulation will support the installation of at least 1.5 GWh in new electricity storage facilities.

The measure is open to all storage technologies that are directly connected to the transmission network or distribution network. It only supports newly installed storage facilities.

The help will take the form of direct subsidies. The total subsidy amount may not exceed 50% of the investment costs of supported projects. The aid is provided by December 31, 2025 at the latest.
