Poland ends 5 GWH Energy Storage Subsidy Scheme – PV Magazine International

A total of PLN 4 billion ($ 1 billion) will be distributed at the end of 2025 under the subsidy scheme in an attempt to bring more than 5 GWh of energy storage projects online by 2028.

After a public consultation launched in July 2024, the Polish Ministry of Climate and the Environment completed its energy storage subsidy program that aims to support the use of more than 5 GWh in energy storage in the country.

The new regulation was published on March 7 in the Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland. It paves the way for the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management to launch the long -awaited subsidy scheme at the end of Q1 or the beginning of Q2 2025.

The program budget is 4 billion, including subsidies to PLN 3.6 billion and loans of nearly 400 million PLN. The scheme will be partially financed by the Modernization Fund of the European Union and partly by the block after the soil Recovery and resilience facilityAfter the positive assessment of the European Commission of Poland’s Recovery and Resilience Plan And the approval by the EU council.
